Potential problem analysis is a process to increase the likelihood of achieving objectives as planned. 潜在的問題分析とは、目的を予定通りに達成する可能性を高めるためのプロセスである。

Consider both preventive measures to address the causes of possible risks in a project and reduce their probability of occurrence, and contingency plans to address the impact of the risk and reduce its severity.
プロジェクトで起こりうるリスクの原因に対処しその発生確率を低める予防対策と、リスクの影響に対処しその重大性を低める発生時対策の両方を考える。

In both cases, the balance between effectiveness and cost is taken into account to determine the measures to be implemented and allocate the necessary resources.
いずれも効果とコストのバランスを考慮して実施する対策を決めて必要な資源を割り当てる。

PPA consists of the following steps. This step can also be applied to Potential Opportunity Analysis(PPA).

Clarity of purpose: Define the purpose of the project.

Assumption of risk: Assume possible risks and evaluate them in terms of likelihood and severity.

Preventive measures: Consider preventive measures based on the assumed causes of risk and include them in the plan, taking into account effectiveness and cost.
予防対策：リスクの想定原因から予防対策を考え、効果とコストを考慮して計画に盛り込む

Contingency plans: contingency plans are considered based on the assumed results of the risk and included in the plan, taking into account the effects and costs.
発生時対策：リスクの想定結果から発生時対策を考え、効果とコストを考慮して計画に盛り込む
